Respecting you - our eggs didn't even get close to being painted and somehow the easter bunny completely skipped our house this year. Nobody seemed to notice though, so I'm not gonna tell:)
Thanks, tifty! The bunny was actually pretty laggy here this year. In fact, he almost didn't make it. Saturday, late afternoon, I raced out of the house saying, "I have to get some stuff to help perpetuate the myth!" I just couldn't buy pastel colored plastic crap though, so our son's "Easter basket" was a big green ceramic pot filled with a bag of organic potting soil, some fufu cookies that he thought sucked (Right on, I got to eat them!) and a few other weird tidbits. And he thought it was pretty damn groovy. I love that kid!
I love that the "easter basket" was a ceramic pot with organic soil!!
Well, shees... yesterday (Wednesday) as I am driving home after having picked up my 10 yr old from school he begins to tell me how "Peter Harris who lives up on the hill got a basket and candy and they had an egg hunt and decorated eggs and everything... and it rained all that day at their house too, it's like only up the hill from us, MOM!" Shees. So I know he's 10 and he totally knows that the blame belongs squarely on ME, and I am all, um, yeah, hmmmm, well, we will have to call the easterbunny office of customer service, won't we. I have a feeling (just a feeling, you know) that the easter bunny will make a special trip to our house this weekend :)
Maybe your bunny should come on Friday and leave a note with the loot. "Ha-ha. You thought I wasn't coming this year! April Fools! Love, The Easter Bunny"
Your idea came to life :) On Friday the easter bunny managed to sneak in a couiple of baskets into the backseat of the car where the boys found them when I picked them up for school! Big hit!
Right on. And the Easter stuff was probably even on sale. See, all things for a reason. I think I'm going to go sneak some chocolate, now that I'm reminded...
